How much of a list can get done when you're stuck in bed sick? Zip, zero, zilch.
I feel like I've lost a whole day. At least the girls didn't destroy the house. Bless their hearts, they were angels yesterday. If mommy doesn't feel good, it just takes one good puke for them to really believe it.

Details, details, details. Today, I think I'll attempt to stream line the list.
Oh, gosh, this looks so general, I don't know if I can resist addition upon addition. We'll see if I cheat and slack off on the details.

This is always my favorite list to make. We've really been trying to curb our dining out habits and when I thoroughly menu plan, it's so much more successful. Although I put dates with specific dishes, I'm very flexible in rearranging, I just need a general idea of how many dishes I need to plan for from pay period to pay period.
July 14 Tacos, beans
July 15 Steaks, baked potatoes, corn
July 16 Pork Chops, side dish, vegetable
July 17 Chicken, side dish, vegetable
July 18 Out with friends
July 19 Ribs, fried green tomatoes, baked beans
July 20 Out of town
July 21 Out of town
July 22 Out of town
July 23 Bean and cheese burritos
July 24 Chicken parmagiam, spaghetti
July 25 Hot dogs, baked beans, pasta salad
July 26 Slow cooked ham, green beans, new potatoes and white beans
July 27 Chili over spaghetti

So, I managed to get enough of the list done to be satisfactory, and we ended the night with an exciting game of hide-and-seek! Thank God for prescription cough medicine, so I'm definately feeling much better!
Sometimes it is so hard to keep up with everything while keeping the needs of my girls first and foremost. I am ashamed to admit that it is all to easy to get consumed with keeping things neat and tidy, that I sacrifice quality time with my daughters. It is such a difficult balance to keep everyone happy. My husband doesn't understand that even though I'm home all day, I don't spend the whole time following behind my little tornadoes with a vacuum and cleaning rag, so sometimes the house isn't perfect at the end of the day. My little angels aren't always so angelic, they are what you'd term strong-willed, or precocious if you will. More time is spent squelching tantrums and fights than on housekeeping activities.
All that being said, I do contribute to his desire for a tidy home, with my own compulsion for cleanliness. I have a hard time relaxing if the house is a wreck and I can't sleep if the list has been neglected. It's time to reexamine the cleaning routine that has, in the past, worked so well for me.
I guess I'll put it on the list for tomorrow.

I think there's something wrong with me. Number one, I'm coming down with a summer cold, so that sucks. Number two, I've completely abandoned the list and I feel like the world is completely out of control. So now, I'm forcing my kids to play together in an effort to catch up on my catch up day. How crazy is that? Not that having your kids spend time together is a bad thing, but I know they'd rather me or Mike be up playing with them. I am just having a really hard time being supermom today.

Yesterday was totally unproductive as far as housekeeping goes. I did have a nice outing with my family, so the catch up day will be all worth it.

Sometimes, you just have to take care of yourself. Today is one of those days for me. I need a break and so, in the interest of preserving my sanity, I'm taking it. The list will be prett self-indulgent today.

I am diligent about my lists. No, I don't think I have a compulsion issue, but if I don't make one daily, I would pitter away the day, accomplishing nothing. That being said, I wonder if I'm unrealistic in my daily endeavors. I can fill pages and pages with lists, so who knows, someone out there in cyberworld might find this amusing if I post my daily to dos online. Besides, I always need new addictions!
